Get Donations Online

You can accept donations from your website using a third-party payment provider such as PayPal. You must first get an account with them.

PayPal allows your church to accept donations without setting up a specialized merchant account, so the overhead is very low and it's easy to get started. You can apply from here: Apply

Once You Register With PayPal

Once you have registered with a payment processor listed above, you'll want to link it to your site. The easiest way is to create a freeform front-page box to your site. They will provide you with HTML code to paste into your website to ask for donations. Be sure to use your HTML editor's source mode to paste the code.

Be sure that the text of your request for donations is specific. This will go on the main page of your website. Try to come up with something specific that donations online will support, rather than just saying "hey, send us money". We've found that specific requests draw much more of a response. An example:

Please help us send our youth group to the Spartling Camp in Indiana this summer. Donate money online by credit card.
